My name is Nate Archer and this is my blog.

Here you will find stories, opinions, ideas and links relating to a multitude of subjects. This mainly covers design, marketing, business and whatever else catches my attention. If you are more interested in something else than let me know, chances are I won’t listen, but it’s worth a shot.

On a personal level, I’m a young and ambitious Toronto based designer, now living in Milan, who is always trying to learn more. I’m a recent graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Design majoring in Industrial Design. During my final year I created a mobile music service that explored the changing nature of the music industry and its effects on user experience. This experience expanded my horizons and taught me valuable skills, which have enabled me to explore the expanding nature of design.

In the past year I have been involved in numerous projects both in and out of school. I was a contributing writer for two recently published publications: Shift: Positions and Brief. Shift: Positions is journal of essays that includes a forward by Canadian artist, Ed Burtynsky. Brief is a compendium of student writing showcasing the work of my graduating class, which I also coordinated.

Since leaving school I have worked at noankmedia inc. where I interned in the business development department, working on researching and securing media content. I have also done some freelance graphic design and design consulting for a number of clients. I now live in Milan, Italy where I work and blog at designboom.

Outside of design, I am a passionate photographer and blogger. However these hobbies pale in comparison to my passion for music. I am continually trying to listen to more music and enjoy as many musical experiences as possible.
